According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid is planning a summer transfer for Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Menino (via The Hard Tackle). Palmeiras, a Brazilian Serie A club, is where the 21-year-old midfielder presently plays.
Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemiro have all been with Real Madrid for a long time. They are, however, not getting any younger. Kroos and Modric are 31 and 36 years old, respectively, with Casemiro turning 30 in 2022. In Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga, Los Blancos have two long-term alternatives for the midfield trio. Gabriel Menino is seen as Real Madrid's third long-term midfield replacement, according to the aforementioned source. The 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder is one of the finest in the league and might be Casemiro's successor at the Santiago Bernabeu. Menino is also a versatile player who can fill in as a right winger when needed.
Gabriel Menino made his Palmeiras debut in 2019. Since then, the 21-year-old midfielder has appeared in 92 games for the club, scoring six goals and assisting 11 times in all competitions. Gabriel Menino was a member of the Brazilian Olympic team that won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics last year. The 21-year-old midfielder has also been called up to the Brazilian national squad, but has yet to play a full match for the Selecao.
Gabriel Menino has been linked with a move to Real Madrid on several occasions. In the summer of 2021, Los Blancos were also interested in signing the Brazilian midfielder. A deal for the 21-year-old midfielder, however, fell through.
Apart from Gabriel Menino, Real Madrid has been linked with Franck Kessie and Aurelien Tchouameni in the past.
Real Madrid's main summer objective is still Kylian Mbappe.
Kylian Mbappe, a French attacker, remains Real Madrid's top summer target in 2022. The 22-year-old attacker is in the final six months of his deal with Paris Saint-Germain. As a result, Mbappe is currently in a position to sign a pre-contract with Real Madrid, allowing him to join the club on a free transfer.
However, the agreement may not be finalised in the next weeks. PSG has been drawn against Los Blancos in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. This could cause the announcement to be postponed until the end of the season.
